I'm Back!
Hey everyone, sorry I managed to type out my first ever blog then did not continue. I have been very busy! There has been a wedding, honeymoon and some DIY to move home soon. So it has been rather chaotic! However a year or more later I have decided to start writing and keep at it! I am now in a new setting and enjoying it immensely. My plan is to continue writing blogs regarding outdoor settings and focus points. As ever your comments are welcome and I appreciate any feedback. I am going to start with numeracy in the outdoors and continue from there. Hopefully I can get into the swing of things and create some mind blowing blogs that are hopefully useful/interesting.

Forest School
Short Introduction
My name is Natalie, I work with Pre-School in an outdoor nursery, I am currently undergoing my Forest School training and I am enjoying it immensely. I have recently opened up a small Forest School session every week within my workplace to give the children the opportunity to experience Forest School in stages. These blogs will be split up into children's learning, activities and some hopefully helpful tips!
I believe that outdoor education is extremely important in a child's life. In my setting we are outside enjoying the fresh air for the majority of the day. This is where children gain or improve many skills. As an educator you are providing children with a stimulating and nurturing environment for each individual child. I find a lot of children in my setting blossom at a substantial rate whilst outside, whether improving social skills, confidence or manage to risk assess more confidently. Forest School is not just a singular subject of education it is a map of outdoor experience, learning skills, life skills and so much more. This is the reason I grabbed the chance as soon as it came upon me to undergo my Level 3 Forest School training.

Enjoy!
